20-09-2024 Samtse HSSWe are delighted to announce that Samtse Higher Secondary School secured second place in the Online Dzongkha Debate Competition, held on September 20, 2024, and hosted by Wangbama Central School. Our talented debaters, Dawa Norbu (Class 12 Science) and Tandin Pem (Class 11 Science), delivered an exceptional performance, competing against 23 Higher and Middle Secondary Schools. Samtse HSS Boys Talk: Empowering Healthy Choices
18-09-2024 Samtse HSSToday, Samtse Higher Secondary School hosted the Boys Talk, facilitated by our dedicated Health and Wellbeing Team. This important session focused on fostering open conversations around sexual health, responsibility, harmful impact of alcohol, smoking, inhalant, marijuana, and some preventive measures.
Through this initiative, we aim to empower our boys to build healthy relationships, understand their sexual responsibilities, and make informed decisions. By creating a safe space for dialogue, we encourage them to be responsible and confident as they navigate these crucial aspects of life.

His Majesty's Certificate of Excellence for the Academic year 2022 Award Ceremony
17-09-2024 Samtse HSSWe are pleased to announce the successful completion of the His Majesty’s Certificate of Excellence for the Academic Year 2022 award ceremony, held at Samtse Higher Secondary School. The event began with a warm reception for our esteemed Chief Guest, Dasho Dzongda, followed by the Marchang Ceremony and lighting of butter lamps. The ceremony was graced with the offering of Zhabten for His Majesty The King by all teachers and students, marking the occasion with great reverence. Dasho Dzongdag emphasized Bhutan's talent-driven progress, highlighting how our merit-based system helps us compete globally. He also noted the nation's growth from a life expectancy of 34 in 1961 to 73 today, thanks to the vision of our forefathers and monarchs. He mentioned the Gelephu Mindfulness City initiative, aimed at benefiting the youth. Principal Sir shared a mid-year report, highlighting completed activities and outlining plans for the remainder of the academic year. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the outstanding students who received His Majesty’s Certificate of Excellence for their exemplary academic achievements in 2022. Your hard work and dedication have made us all proud.
