Day 3 - Foothill Literary Festival - 2024
06-09-2024 Samtse HSSThe Foothill Literary Festival 2024 concluded on September 6th at Samtse Higher Secondary School, showcasing creativity and cultural appreciation over three days. The final day featured debates in Dzongkha by students from classes 9 to 12, along with the results of the Inter-Class Character Portrayal Competition and the Mathematics Quiz. All participants received prizes and certificates for their efforts. The festival concluded with remarks from the Principal and a book fair, allowing attendees to select a free book to take home.

The Mathematics Quiz must have been a great way to kick off the day, showcasing the students' problem-solving skills. The presentations and the video on cultural heritage sound both insightful and enriching, especially highlighting the traditions of the Newar and Rai communities.

Samtse Higher Secondary School is excited to kick off a three-day celebration of creativity and diversity in unity, starting today.
The festival was inaugurated by our esteemed PDEO, Mr. Chimi Tshewang, alongside our Principal and staff members.
Day 1 (4th September): Inter-Class Character Portrayal Competition
Students brought literary legends to life, with remarkable portrayals of both fictional and nonfictional characters. The stage was graced by the likes of William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, Lord Tennyson, Queen Elizabeth I, Jane Austen, Leo Tolstoy, Emily Dickinson, and many more. Each performance was a testament to the students' creativity and deep connection to literature.
